ā¤ļøI'm really enjoying life! In my forties, I love taking walks. I've stopped doing things that don't bring me joy, like endless burpees and jumping jacks, although I occasionally include them in my HIIT workouts.
ā¤ļøThis month, I'm turning 44, and it's hard to believe. I still feel like I'm in my 30s, maybe even better than in my 20s. A few years ago, I didn't feel this way. Everyone said that hitting 40 changes everythingāmetabolism, hormones, energy. I didn't believe it because I felt amazing at 40, but then 41, 42, and 43 came along, and my old workout and eating habits weren't enough anymore. I gradually gained about 10-15 pounds and almost accepted it. I even read books about accepting this as a normal part of aging.
ā¤ļø I knew there was more to life. I wasn't done at 40, no way! I have so much to look forward to, and I refuse to settle for weight gain and low energy forever!
I came across this quote: "If you feel old in your forties, it's not your age; it's your lifestyle." Despite working out daily, I wasn't eating right for my aging body. Deep down, I knew my weight gain wasn't due to hormones or metabolismāit was my diet! Our eating habits must change in our forties and beyond, and that's okay.
ā¤ļøI now have a new way of eating and living my best life! It's not strict; it's mostly earth-based foods, and a significant change was quitting eating after dinner. Those nighttime snacks weren't helping me. We need to stay out of the kitchen several hours before bed. Eating and then going to bed doesn't benefit you in your forties, trust me.
