🌿 Sunday Reset: Stop Forcing
🌿 Sunday Reset: Stop Forcing It
Let’s talk about food, movement, and giving ourselves permission to find what actually works for us.
There is something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately:
😕Why are we still trying to force ourselves into routines that we don’t even enjoy?
Especially in midlife.
Our bodies change. Our schedules change. Our priorities change. And sometimes the things that worked for us 10 or 20 years ago just don’t feel good anymore.
🍎 Let’s talk about food. (New recipe at the bottom)
Maybe you used to be able to eat a certain way and feel great—and now you don’t.
👉Maybe eating too little leaves you exhausted. (I get grumpy-hangry)
👉Maybe cutting out carbs makes you miserable. (I get the shakes!)
👉Maybe certain foods leave you feeling bloated or sluggish. (Salt and processed foods for me)
👉Maybe you need more protein than you used to.
👉Maybe you simply need to stop labeling foods as “good” or “bad” and start paying attention to how your body responds.
🦋Midlife can be a really good time to stop following someone else’s perfect diet and start becoming curious about your own body.
Not: “What diet should I be doing?”
But:
“How do I feel when I eat this?”
That little shift can change everything.
🏃♀️ And the same goes for exercise.
If you absolutely hate running… you don’t have to run.
If you love dancing, dance.
If you love lifting weights, lift.
If Pilates makes you feel amazing, do Pilates.
If you need a walk and some stretching today, take the walk.
And if the workout you’re doing isn’t working for you anymore?
Find something else.
❤️Movement doesn’t have to be punishment for what you ate. It doesn’t have to be something you dread. And it doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s workout.
The goal is to find something you actually want to keep doing.
And maybe this applies to more than food and fitness…
How many things are we doing simply because we think we’re supposed to?
How much time do we spend overthinking?
“Should I?”
“What will people think?”
“Am I doing enough?”
“Is this the right way?”
Sometimes I think we need to quiet all of that noise and ask ourselves a much simpler question:
“Do I actually want to do this?”
And if the answer is yes—go do it.
If the answer is no—maybe it’s okay to let it go.
We don’t have to make everything so complicated.
🌸 Your Sunday Reset
This week, I want you to pay attention instead of judging.
Notice what foods make you feel good.
Notice what movement makes you feel energized.
Notice what drains you.
Notice what brings you joy.
And then give yourself permission to do a little more of what works for you.
Because aging well isn’t about following a perfect plan.
It’s about learning yourself.
And remember:
🌻You don’t have to do what everyone else is doing.
You just have to find what makes you feel good enough to keep going. ❤️
🏃♀️ Below is your workout for the week!
If you like doing these workouts, do them! Move your body, have fun, get stronger, and enjoy it.
But if these workouts aren’t your thing, please find something that fits YOU. ❤️
Maybe you love walking, biking, swimming, dancing, lifting, Pilates, yoga, pickleball—or something completely different.
You don’t have to do MY workouts to age well. 😂
My goal is simply to encourage you to find movement you actually enjoy, because you’re much more likely to stick with something when you don’t dread doing it.
So this week:
Do what you enjoy.
Stop overthinking it.
Move your body.
And have some fun with it.
That’s your Sunday Reset. 🌿❤️
